The Kitchen Screen System Software
The system may be configured for many different types of operation. Rather than changing the kitchen, we look at the way it currently operates and configure the system to enhance, improve and make it easier to work in. Different types of screens are available to give a different view of the kitchen depending on the task being performed.
The basic Chef Screen will display a list of items to be prepared and most of the time the chef simply has to select the order, using the touch sensitive strip on the bump bar and press the 'CLR' key.
Table orders may be split by preparation station or course. Screens may be configured to show orders waiting for 'mains away', those waiting to go, or everything. Item count displays may be used to show counts of specific items in the kitchen.
The system may be configured so that chefs can indicate to the system that individual items have started cooking and the system can prompt chefs to start cooking items. Chefs have access to more detailed information on all the tickets on a table and can even display a picture of the menu item selected or cooking instructions.
Colours are used to indicate courses and timers to indicate how long the customer has been waiting for the food.
The Expeditor or Server has access to screens which tell them which food item is awaiting collection and the status of all the orders in the kitchen. Items may be deleted as they are sent out for very large orders.
Manager Screens, showing the status of all tables in the kitchen, may be used to relay the state of the kitchen to front of house staff.
We even have a customer collection screen for fast food operations using customer order points (kiosks).
A web server is built into the software so that the system can be accessed from any device with a browser for individual screen and kitchen status information and dashboards.
